Obtaining professional certifications are an excellent way of measuring your knowledge against a standard benchmark. They are especially useful when new versions arrive, as they provide an opportunity to explore the newest features in a structured manner. Compared to expensive on-site classes, they offer self-motivated individuals a cost effective way to stay current with the tools of their trade.

Below are my current certifications. I’m planning to test for the CompTIA Linux+ and MySQL Associate (CMA) before the year’s end. After that, it will be time for the 11g OCP.
